CVS meeting

I am very excited.  I got a call from a dear friend that has been a friend for well over.... well let's not give our age away okay?   Her husband is a general manager @ CVS and they are very interested in couponing.  He has invited me to come and speak to the GSM's at their monthly meeting in August.  He wants me to cover issues we have with coupons in their stores.  He said they know couponing is here to stay and they want to make it easier for us.  How awesome is that?  He said they understand that employees can sometimes make it more difficult and they want us, their customers to be happy @ CVS.   I want to give more than just my opinion, help me out so I can cover the most important issues.  Anything that you like or dislike about CVS regarding sales, coupons, item availability, and employee knowledge or willingness to help.  Please choose the comment button below and I will pass along to the powers that be.  Thanks Jeff for giving me this opportunity.  Very excited.

Favorite CVS deal of the week

CVS has various name brand power bars buy 2 get one free.  I had 8 B1G1 free coupons and 3 $1 coupons and one .50 coupon.  I purchased  25 power bars from $1.99-$2.99 each and a bag of water balloons for my kids for a grand total of $19.52 and earned $3.49 in extra bucks.  My total savings was $47.24.  Remember to purchase extra coupons look at my previous blog to see my favorite clipping services they are certainly worth the investment.

Sunday planning day

Happy Father's Day to all you dad's.  The sales this week are pretty good but the new coupons aren't my favorite.  Wanted to pass along  my new favorite coupon clipper service is couponsthingsbydede.com/.
I have found that they have great prices and selection and they do not have the minimum buy that couponclippers.net has.   I hope you are able to find all of your shopping items on sale and use a coupon.  Keep in mind, if you can wait and it is not on sale, it is best to wait.  This is the great thing about stockpiling you can wait and shop your stockpile until the item comes on sale and you have a coupon.
Sunday night is my planning night.  I start by clipping and organizing my coupons. Then I review each sales flier and make a list for each store.  Then I compare each list to find the best deal, often marking items off from one list and adding to another.  I go through my coupons and I write down how many coupons I have for each item and their value and put them in an envelope with the name of the store on the front or put in my coupon divider.
Next, I look on my favorite sites for free printable coupons, couponmom.com and southernsavers.com and the clipping services if I can't find what I need from the free sites.
I have found that the more organized I am and the more planning I do the more I save.
Good luck and have fun shopping this week!

How to buy past coupons

I use two clipping services which I have come to love.  At first the thought of buying coupons seemed crazy.  However, I have never spent over $8 on buying coupons on one transaction and I average saving over $50 with each purchase so to me it is well worth it.  My favorites are thecouponclippers.com and manufacturescoupons.net.  The couponclippers.com are more expensive but the variety is usually a little better.  Manufacturescoupons.net has been closed for a bit but should be back up and running this week.  If you need the coupons for this week, order them by Tuesday at the latest.  I would try to order Sunday or Monday to guarantee they arrive before the sales are off.  Also, do not fret if your biggest deals are no longer available ask for a rain check.  These are the best because then you have more time to find coupons.  Good luck and happy saving.  Remember just because it is on sale does not mean it is the best deal.  Keep your fliers for several weeks to compare the best deals and you will know when to stock up.

I like to purchase everything with 2 transactions.  Buy everything you need with an EB first then purchase 2nd transaction with EB.
Go to CVS.com for extra coupons and you can stack with a store and a manufactures coupon.
Always scan red box multiple times upon entering store.  It gives you several coupons and they are different for several scans.

Rite Aid sales and information

You can pick up several weeks fliers at your local Rite aid or you can preview a few days ahead of time at iheartriteaid.com

St Joseph Coated Aspirin $1.50 with $1.50 up reward

I like to buy everything with two transactions.  I divide it up by those earning up rewards first and then pay for my second transaction with the up rewards.  Just keep it separated in the buggy with recycle green grocery bags for ease.

My favorite sales are B1GO because you can use 2 coupons often making it free or close to it.
My least favorite are B1G1 half off.  That is only a 25% savings on each which unless it is an item that never comes on sale.  I will pass on this.
Remember Rite Aid has electronic rebates.  You sign op on line and just fill in the blanks.  Only send at the end of the month because you can only submit one per month.
Also, make sure to watch their videos online and print off the coupons.  You can use these with a manufactures coupon as well.  They always have 2 that are just off general purchase so be sure to watch the wellness club and the pharmacy one.
Often their receipts will print off a $3 coupon if you complete an online survey .  Just takes a few minutes and well worth it.  Limit 4 per month.

How to start saving with coupons

I have recently started  trying to teach  my family and friends what I have learned about saving money by stacking coupons with sales.  I am by no means an expert but I have learned a lot in the last year and am still learning.  My plan is to help more people and continue to learn from others along the way.  If you are interested in learning more about saving money with coupons, please join my blog.  I thoroughly enjoy saving money and even my family gets in on the hunt.  While others may enjoy hunting big game I hunt bargains.  Hope you will too.
I will start posting deals both advertised and non advertised and explain how to make combinations to save the most money.  This week there should be two inserts of coupons in the Sunday paper so make sure to buy one.
